Jennifer is a native Houstonian & Heights resident since 1995 and has been practicing Physical Therapy in Houston since 1987 and Pilates since 2003. She graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch, B.S. in Physical Therapy, in 1987. In 1995 she completed her Master’s in Business Administration from Our lady of the Lake. Her interest in health, fitness, and helping others, led to her pursuit of a career in Physical Therapy. Over time, she developed her services to include Pilates, Physical Therapy (Jennifer Klein Physical Therapy), and cardio/interval heart rate testing (VO2MaxHouston). She obtained her Pilates certification through Balanced Body, a 500 + comprehensive, acquired in 2011. As a certified Pilates instructor, with a license in Physical Therapy, she is able to teach Pilates with expertise and safety, aware of proper precautions and contraindications, to those with special needs or concerns due to surgical histories, osteoporosis, arthritis, incontinence, stroke recovery, pre and postpartum, and other medical conditions including pain. Her personal background as a former competitive gymnast and triathlete, allows her to teach Pilates with expertise to athletes addressing their flexibility and strength needs, fine tune their coordination, enhance their agility and further develop their core stability. She coached for Bela and Marta Karolyi, the coaches of Olympian’s Nadia Comaneci and Mary Lou Retton, in 1983-84 and was an avid participant and supporter of the Houston Racing Triathlon Club throughout the ‘90’s. As a licensed Physical Therapist, my services include helping those with therapy needs in the following areas: sports medicine, orthopedics, injury recovery, pre and post surgical rehab, neurological disorders, stroke rehab, and women’s health issues. I strive to provide, with compassion, the highest quality and most efficient plan of care through individualized, one-on-one treatment sessions. She is a guest Pilates instructor at The Westin in Beaver Creek, Colorado and was a seasonal Physical Therapist in the winter of 2012 at the world-renowned Howard Head Sports Medicine Clinic/Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado. She received her 200RYT yoga teacher certification from YogaOne Studios in Houston this year. She specializes in vinyasa, hatha, and Forrest yoga. She also has a Bachelor’s degree in science in Geology with a minor in modern languages (primarily Spanish). Her passions include beach bumming, traveling, and spending time with her dog.

John Paul Guillen

John Paul Guillen

Massage Therapist

John Paul Guillen is a native Houstonian, who from an early age has had an interest in both health and art.  As a child, he was a gifted artist but slowly changed focus to work towards a more steady career.  John Paul wanted to turn his interests toward working with people more directly and wanted to find a career that would not only help people, but help them see the results.   Around this time, he was invited to get a massage for the first time.  Prior to this experience, he never imagined that massage could be so therapeutic.   After being amazed by the results from just one session, he knew that he had finally found the career that he was looking for.  John Paul enrolled in massage therapy school the following week, and the rest is history.

John Paul has been practicing massage therapy for 10 years and has been fortunate enough to have been mentored by the best therapists in Houston.  Along his journey as a massage therapist, he acquired an Associate’s Degree in Science, a Certification in Natural Health (NHP), a license in Real Estate and several certifications for continuing education in various massage modalities.   John Paul is currently a senior at the University of Houston-Downtown and is completing his bachelor’s degree in Psychology.   Upon completion, he plans to continue his education in Eastern Chinese Medicine to earn his PhD.   His career goal is to find the most effective way to diagnose and deal with the daily stressors that affect people.   He has been witness to a variety of effective ways for treating these aliments and wishes to share his skills and knowledge with anyone whom it may benefit.

John Paul hopes to get the chance to meet and treat you soon at Jennifer Klein Physical Therapy and AATB Pilates!

Our Administrators

Theresa Yaptangco

Head Administrator

Theresa received her Bachelor of Science in Applied movement and development with a minor in Business Administrations from the University of Texas. Her interest in Physical Therapy and the body stemmed from years of playing competitive soccer and volleyball. In 2010 during college, she tore her ACL, MCL, and PCL in her left leg during a volleyball match and that’s where her interest in Physical Therapy and the body really took off. 3 years after her first ACL surgery she tore her right ACL and PCL and began the process all over again. Since then she has spent a lot of time building and rebuilding the strength in not only her knees but her total body. Theresa is now an avid sand volleyball player and continues to train and rehab even after her surgeries. Finding Jennifer Klein Physical Therapy and AATB Pilates was fantastic for her. She is excited to be working at a place that utilizes not only the Physical Therapy aspect but the business side as well! When Theresa is not at Jennifer Klein Physical Therapy and AATB Pilates you can find her at the gym, playing sand volleyball or hanging out with friends and family.
